What to see and do
Levanto, like many other Ligurian towns has a multiple identity. It is a seaside resort, but also a fishing village and a hill top farming town. This mixture of elements has influenced Levanto’s art, economy, architecture and traditional cuisine.
Levanto’s historical centre is divided into two parts, the 13th century “Borgo Antico” and the Renaissance “Borgo Nuovo”. Two important religious structures are located in the historical centre, the Church of Sant’Andrea and the Convent of the Agostiniani.
Levanto’s climate is pleasant all year round. The hearty can go swimming and surfing until the end of autumn. Hiking through the hills and the surrounding hilltop villages is another local attraction.
Levanto is member of the “Città Slow”, an award given by the “Slow Food” association for excellent local wines, traditional cuisine and the general quality of life.
